Scheuring Road Interchange
Schedule: Mid-February through mid-September 2011 Scheuring Road (Cty F) interchange is set to close after the morning rush on Monday, February 21st. Scheuring will be closed between PDQ Drive and Lawrence Drive. The plan is for the ramps to re-open in mid-July to restore some access, but the bridge itself will not open until mid-September. Alternate routes will still need to be utilized during this final stage.
While the Scheuring Road interchange is closed, the adjacent interchanges, Main Av. (Cty G) to the north, and Freedom Road (Cty S) to the south, will remain open with detour signage in place.
Highway Business Sign Permits All signage to direct traffic through detours to access business must be approved by DOT, and the municipality where the sign will reside. The application for these permits needs to be approved a month in advance, so the time is now to get your applications in if you want signage up in mid-February when construction and closures begin. If possible try to coordinate with other businesses to avoid a mess of signs strewn along the roadside. Also, do not attach any signs to safety barricades.
For more information on the matter of signs please contact Matt Geurts, US 41 Project Construction Lead at (920) 857-4189 or by e-mail: mgeurts@patrickengineering.com
Other Highway 41 Project Updates - Most likely beginning in Aprill 2011, US 41 mainline widening between Orange Lane and Memorial Drive. This will involve single-lane overnight closures to add temporary lanes on the US 41 mainline.
Reconstruction of Mid Valley intersection with Main Avenue, tentatively scheduled for August 2011, Mid-Valley Drive will not close at Main until after it has re-opened at Scheuring. This means that likely within a few weeks of the ramps at Scheuring re-opening is when this project will start.
